Sustainability

From landfill to wall.

Every REDiscora piece begins with a disc that was already manufactured, already discarded, and already on its way to becoming waste. Restoration is the whole point — not a marketing line.

Four principles

The decisions behind every disc.

01

Salvage first, always.

Every disc that enters the studio comes from estate sales, charity shops, record-store clear-outs and the adopt-a-disc programme. We don't buy new blanks. If we can't restore a disc, it goes back into a closed-loop polycarbonate recycling stream — never to landfill.

02

Low-impact printing.

Our flatbed UV printer cures ink instantly with LED light, using no solvents and producing no VOC emissions. We batch print runs to keep the machine warm only when it's working, and we share off-cuts of substrate with two other Venlo studios.

03

Plastic-free in the post.

Each commission ships in a moulded paper-pulp tray inside a recycled cardboard mailer, sealed with paper tape. No bubble wrap, no foam, no plastic windows. The tray composts; the mailer recycles with normal paper.

04

Repair, don't replace.

If a piece is ever damaged in transit or in your home, send it back. We'll repolish, reprint or remount it for the cost of return shipping — for the lifetime of the work.

Adopt-a-disc

Send us your old CDs.

Got a stack of scratched discs in a drawer? Post them to the studio in Venlo and we'll add them to the salvage shelf. We'll send you a small thank-you print made from one of yours.
